Senior Chemist/Project Leader - Inks

Our client is part of an international chemicals and coatings organisation and is a leading provider of specialist inks. They are at the forefront in technology when it comes to delivering colour expertise and innovative new products.

They are now seeking several chemists to expand their team as either Project Leaders, Technology Leaders, or Senior Chemists to develop liquid inks, paste inks and inkjet inks. 

Main duties and Responsibilities (not all applicable to all positions):

  • To work, as part of a laboratory-based team, on production and maintenance of existing liquid ink or paste ink products.
  • Support development of security inks and to carry out evaluations of new raw materials. 
  • To develop high quality and innovative products and contribute to product development programmes to meet business needs and within agreed deadlines. 
  • To maintain current product ranges ensuring compliance, changes when necessary, material understanding and formulation cost savings.
  • To lead short, medium, and long-term customer technical projects and development projects to manage technical risks and within agreed timelines.
  • To meet and collaborate with customers, internal sales and business development to recommend and formulate appropriate technical solutions.
  • Responsible for the leadership and timely execution of development projects to deliver new security inks and features to meet market demand and exceed industry standards.

Competencies:

  • Degree in Chemistry/Material Sciences or related discipline
  • Extensive experience in the surface coatings industry (inks, paints, coatings, pigments), with a proven track record in new product development.
