Our Client supplies a wide range of wet paint, powder coatings and metal pretreatment products, to a variety of market areas. In addition to their core range of products, the on-site Chemists produce a large number of customer bespoke paints, to suit their customers’ particular application, testing or performance requirements.

Our Clients supply paint systems for everything from ATM machines to giant earth moving equipment, and from aerospace and passenger train interiors to sports stadia floor paints.

Chemist Responsibilities: 

• Work in the R&D, and Quality team helping develop new products in both water based and solvent based technologies
• Provide production with technical and quality control support when necessary
• Provide guidance and direction for the sales and marketing departments
• Maintain good working relationships with key customers and suppliers
• Work within the Quality Management Systems for ISO9001.

Chemist Profile

• Experienced in the manufacture of coatings;
• Experience of the development of different types of coatings materials
  • Solvent based alkyd/Water reducible alkyd
  • Acrylic / Chlorinated Rubber
  • Epoxies – Solvent Based/Water Based/ High Solids
  • Polyurethanes – Solvent Based/Very High Solids
  • Water Based Acrylics
• Strong time management, planning and organisational skills.
• Creative, flexible and able to adapt to industry changes.
• Knowledge of substrate surface preparation

In return our client is offering the successful Chemist a salary in the region of £34,000 - £40,000, though possibly higher for the right candidate
